Trail Shoppe
Two Raleigh Designers Turn Their Shared Passion for Sourcing into Curated Collections
When Raleigh designers Shannon Cassell (@shannoncassellinteriors) and Anna Applegate (@annaapplegateinteriors) moved their businesses into a shared studio in 2023, they discovered common ground beyond their profession: a passion for travel, antiquing, and sourcing one-of-a-kind pieces for their designs. That overlap soon became the foundation for Trail Shoppe.
"What began as a personal passion evolved into something we wanted to share more broadly," Anna explains. "On our design sourcing trips, we'd discover extraordinary pieces that weren't right for current projects but were simply too beautiful to leave behind."
As their individual collections of vintage and antique treasures expanded, so did the need for more space—leading to a move to a larger studio on Dixie Trail.
The new space will serve as home base for both of their design firms and a shared resource library, while also giving them the opportunity to showcase their growing collection of unique “finds.”
“We both believe that every space should include something that’s one-of-a-kind,” Shannon notes. “There’s a warmth and depth that’s only achieved from incorporating pieces with history into a room.”
Now, through Trail Shoppe, Shannon and Anna are offering those discovered treasures to a wider audience- inviting others to bring history, character, and story into their own homes.
